Local information

Amble is a lively town and is has a working harbour. Locally there are great restaurants and cafes in the town as well as in nearby Warkworth which is just a couple of miles along the beautiful River Coquet. An easy walk.
There is a general market every Sunday on the quayside and, in the summer, a flea market every Saturday.
The Amble RNLI shop is open over the weekends and they often have an open day when visitors can have a look around the lifeboat station and enjoy coffee and homemade cakes.
The Harbour Pods are a great place to pick up gifts, designer cards and jewellery as well as cheese and cakes. Stroll around with a coffee from Mocha Mondo.
There is also fresh fish in the Northumberland Seafood Centre and you can have a look around the Lobster Hatchery where baby lobsters are hatched and looked after until ready to be released into the sea to increase Northumberland’s lobster stocks.
Nearby is Coquet Island. This is a nature reserve run by RSPB and although visitors are not allowed on the island, there are boat trips from Amble Harbour to see the birds and seals close up. See Puffin Cruises’ website below for times and booking details.
